Features and applications of laser protective windows
The laser protective window is mounted at the front of the laser output head to protect the laser lens and the system. In harsh application environments, laser protective wear can provide a better barrier between the elements.
Creator Optics provides a variety of customized laser protective windows for industry, laboratory and scientific research. These laser protective windows have high precision and durability and is suitable for various types of laser systems. Standard products as well as customized products are available.
All of these laser protective windows have high-precision polished surfaces, surface accuracy, parallelism and efficient optical coatings.
Substrates of laser protective windows
Laser protective windows require substrate materials with high transmittance, low absorption and good heat resistance. For general purpose applications as well as low power laser applications, N-BK7 can be used as a substrate material for protective windows. However, laser protection windows applied to high-power lasers require laser-grade fused silica or sapphire as substrates.
Creator Optics strictly selects high-purity substrate materials and performs deep polishing, such as UV grade fused silica, Corning 7980, Chinese JGS1, laser grade sapphire, etc. They are cut, ground and polished to form precise optical windows. The surface quality of uncoated laser protective window is even better than 10/5 (according to MIL-O-13830A).
LDT (laser damage threshold) of laser protective windows:
"LTD" is one of the important parameters of laser protection windows. It is the main basis for determining the suitability and durability of laser protection windows for use in lasers of different powers. The value of LTD is usually affected by factors such as the purity of the substrate material, the surface finish of the window, and the performance of the optical coating.
Creator Optics adopts advanced ion-assisted physical vapor deposition technology and ion sputtering technology to apply to the coating process of laser protection window. The optical coating has good compactness, small absorption, less scattering, and high laser damage threshold.
